Discover how TCC celebrated a year of community, growth, and service in Pastor Mark Medley's sermon 'Celebrating 2023 — Belong. Grow. Serve.'

As we close the chapter on 2023, it’s time to reflect on the remarkable journey we’ve taken together at Trinity Community Church (TCC). Pastor Mark Medley’s sermon, “Celebrating 2023 — Belong. Grow. Serve.,” is not just a recap; it’s a heartfelt story of our church’s resilience, growth, and unwavering faith. The year at TCC was marked by inspirational stories of members like Barry and Kim Cochran. Their battle against esophageal cancer and their unwavering faith amidst trials embody the very essence of our community’s strength. Their journey is a testament to the power of unity and collective prayer, setting a profound example for us all.

Our growth was evident in the establishment of vital new ministries, such as the Gathering Place, a vibrant hub for young adults. This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing the spiritual growth of every age group within our church. The leadership of individuals like John Grainer and Scott Achele has been pivotal, guiding our congregation through spiritual voyages and helping us anchor our faith in turbulent times.

The Trinity Christian Academy homeschool co-op stands as a beacon of our educational and spiritual commitment, serving almost a hundred families. This initiative highlights our dedication to providing a holistic environment where children and adults alike can grow in knowledge and faith.

Global outreach has always been a cornerstone of TCC’s mission, and 2023 was no exception. We expanded our footprint globally, touching lives from the local community to distant lands like Tanzania and Russia. The Ellis family’s relentless missionary work is a shining example of our global impact, spreading hope and support far and wide. Our local outreach initiatives, like Street Hope and the YWAM Knoxville partnership, demonstrate our commitment to making a tangible difference in our community. These efforts reflect our belief in living out the gospel through acts of service and love.

Financial stewardship is a crucial aspect of our church’s functioning, and 2023 saw generous giving from our congregation. We maintained a balanced approach to operations, equipping, and missions. This financial health allows us to plan ambitiously for the future, ensuring that we continue to grow in our ability to serve God’s purpose. Looking forward to 2024, we are filled with anticipation and excitement. Plans for expanded spiritual education and empowerment are underway, promising another year of fruitful ministry both locally and internationally. We aim to deepen our engagement with the community and strengthen our global outreach initiatives. Pastor Mark concluded the sermon with a moment of prayerful reflection, seeking blessings and guidance for the year ahead. This moment encapsulates our collective hope and faith as we stand poised to continue our journey of belonging, growing, and serving.

As we enter 2024, let’s carry the lessons, experiences, and blessings of the past year. Let’s embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead with the same spirit of unity and faith that has guided us thus far. Together, we will continue to shine God’s light in every corner of our world, embodying the true spirit of belonging, growth, and service. Join us at TCC as we embark on this exciting new chapter, filled with the promise of further growth, deeper community connections, and more impactful service. Let’s make 2024 a year of even greater achievements, guided by our faith and united in our mission.
