In this message, we explore the continuation of the ripple effect that began with the ministry of Jesus and in fulfillment of Acts 1:8 has moved from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria. The Holy Spirit now uses the church at Antioch to begin the process of taking this same gospel message to the ends of the earth. Barnabas and Saul were separated out from the culturally diverse local ministry team in order for them to be sent out as apostolic missionaries who would travel to foreign lands to share the Gospel and establish churches. We believe that Trinity Community Church has a similar call and we look forward to seeing what God will do as we continue to send workers out into the field of this world.
This message is part of our series “The Ripple Effect.” The purpose of this series is to learn more about the life of Jesus and the story of the early church through the writings of Luke. Having looked at some of the highlights of the Gospel of Luke earlier this year, we now will turn our attention to his 2nd writing, the book of Acts. This book follows the history of the Holy Spirit’s influence on the early church and the beginning of the spreading of the Gospel to the corners of the earth. The book of Acts ends abruptly because the mission of the church is ongoing and is to be continued in our day and time by the power of the Holy Spirit.
