January 30, 2016 marks the 3rd Annual running of Knoxville’s Run for Their Lives. It is a 5K run/1mile walk that takes place every year in cities across the country to help raise money and awareness for the fight against human trafficking. “Human trafficking is the world’s fastest growing criminal enterprise and is an estimated $32 billion-a-year global industry. It is a form of modern day slavery that profits from the exploitation of the most vulnerable populations.” Many people do not realize that human trafficking occurs not only across the world, but also across the country, across the state and yes even here in Knoxville, TN.Would you be willing to come out and join in the festivities? Whether you are a runner/walker or volunteer, there is a place for you! They are still looking for runners, and also there are some spots open on the prayer team as well as other volunteer positions. The race will be held at Market Square downtown on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. Volunteers would need to arrive no later than 9 a.m. Follow this link to sign up.http://www.freedom424.org/r4tl/races/knoxville-tn/?rsuSessionAttempt=1If you would like more information or are interested in participating in any way, please see or call Julianne Durfee at 865-227-8929 or check out the website at www.freedom424.org.
