The current health crisis now impacting literally every nation and people around the world is also bringing to many, a sense of hopeless, fear, economic hardship, and depression. Over the last couple of weeks, the elders have been leading a short time of online prayer each evening to pray with and encourage our church body. As we transition into April, we are sensing God’s call for our church to a special emphasis of prayer, fasting, and repentance.
We are therefore asking each of you to commit to a day in April in which you will fast and pray for 2 things: (1) that God would show mercy to the nations and bring health and healing from this virus and its effects and (2) that God’s Spirit would move upon the nations to turn to Christ in genuine repentance, faith, and revival.
These are not small prayers. Yet, we believe God is doing something in our world that is unprecedented in terms of its world-wide scope and the opportunity in our day to communicate the gospel as never before. We serve a loving God, “who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4).
We believe God has a great purpose in what he has allowed for this time in history. We hope you will join us as we humble ourselves and pray together. May the Lord receive all the glory (Psalm 91:1-15 ESV).
May God bless each of you and keep you in his care.
