Hello Church!
In the wake of all that has been happening regarding the COVID-19 Virus, I wanted to take this time to address your questions regarding our stance and plan as a church. First, I encourage you once again to not be in fear over this or any other illnesses. Our God is sovereign, and “has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, and love, and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). We are called to be in this world but not of it, and this is an excellent opportunity to showcase the peace of God that surpasses understanding and minister to those around us who don’t know Jesus. (Here are some great verses to meditate on while struggling with fear: Joshua 1:9; Psalm 23:4; Psalm 34:4; Psalm 55:22; Psalm 91; John 14:27; Philippians 4:6-7; Matthew 6:25-34. Hebrews 13:6; 2 Timothy 1:7; Colossians 3:15).
While this is something that we want to treat with the proper respect, especially since our governmental officials are asking us to do so, we do not need to panic but instead calmly and thoughtfully take the proper recommended precautions. Such things as hand washing, staying home if you suspect you are ill or have a weakened immune system, and limiting physical touch. We as a church are exercising extra due diligence to ensure the sanitary condition of our facility. For more info about the governmental recommendations concerning COVID-19, please visit their website at: cdc.gov
Because of these recommendations and prayers for wisdom, we will be cutting down our Sunday services to one 11 o’clock service until further notice and will continue showing the service online via the Facebook livestream. We as an elder team would love to see you in person, but leave it up to you to prayerfully decide as a household according to your health and personal convictions whether to attend in person or watch the livestream as a family. Either way, know that we love you, support you, and are here for you as an eldership and staff.
Let’s pray that God would give us wisdom as well as opportunities to extend His grace to others. We as an elder team are praying for each of you for protection from fear and sickness. Let’s all commit to praying for those around us who are struggling either with this illness or are in fear regarding it. My prayer over you today is that the Lord bless you and keep you, cause his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you, lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, in the name of Jesus.
Blessings,
Tyler and the Elder Team of TCC

We appreciate all the hard work and prayers ya’ll have put into this decision. With the services as they are now, it’s a smaller crowd in each. If you change it to one service for everyone to attend, it’ll be full. Then, should someone have it, it’ll increase the chance of spreading it to even more people, especially with the number of elderly’s we have in our church and many people with low autoimmune systems. That would be putting them all together and making it a higher risk for them. Sometimes, this is one of the few chances they get out of their home during the week, too. Just my concerns and thoughts on it.
Praying for guidance from God and for our leaders.
