Protecting human life

Protecting human life

The Protecting Human Life Team is a group that values life and endeavors to protect it.  Specifically, we serve the congregation by making them aware of various social justice issues facing our community, nation and world (such as human trafficking, abortion and suicide) and encouraging them to put feet to their faith by participating in various events in the community to help raise awareness and to promote justice.

Our mission statement may be summed up by Proverbs 31:8-9 which says,
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

If you are interested in learning more about this group, you are welcome to come to one of our monthly meetings which takes place on the first Sunday of every month at 11:00 a.m. in the library, or you may contact Julianne Durfee at 865-227-8929. We would love to have you!
