Understanding Our Vision for Men
A man who is engaged with the Father (in unity and intimacy with Him as one gear engages another) is:

  • A man of the “One Thing.”
“One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.” (Ps. 27:4)
  • A man of God’s Word.
He desires to be good ground, not caught up in the cares of the world (Mk. 4).
  • A man who actively seeks the God’s presence in his life
He recognizes that he has to make time to seek God Himself. He avoids the typical traps that stop men from engaging with God: condemnation, fear, guilt, busy-ness.
  • A man committed to other men in the body
As the men’s ministry, we come alongside each other saying, “Let’s do this together,” as we motivate one another.
  • A man who is dangerously committed to God, on a wild adventure
The Bible is a book of “do’s,” things that we CAN do.  The Christian life is not a “safe, sanitary, little life.”  Jesus walked with the unsaved, and He influenced them (not the other way around).

A man who is accomplishing God’s purposes is a Man of Mission raised up through evangelism, discipleship and ministry.

  • Men of Evangelism:
A man of evangelism wins other men to Christ and brings them into the Body.
  • Men of Discipleship:
A man of discipleship trains other men to become disciples of Christ. The focus is inward as it addresses areas that personally affect men. Those being discipled learn what it means to be a disciple of Christ and what being a disciple looks like practically in everyday life.
  • Men of Ministry:
Men who serve and disciple other men to serve the body. The focus is outward as it leads men to a life of service to the Body and their community. The goal is to disciple men so that service becomes their lifestyle, not just another activity added to their day.
  • Men of Mission:
Men who evangelize, disciple and minister on their own and actively disciple other men to become Men of Mission.
